TEXTURE

Textured skin refers to uneven skin that may feel rough, bumpy, or have an irregular surface. This can occur due to a variety of factors, such as;

  • Clogged pores

  • Acne scars

  • Sun Exposure

  • Hyperpigmentation

When the pores become blocked with excess oil, dirt, or dead skin cells, they can result in blackheads, whiteheads, or pimples, leading to a rough texture. Acne scars or hyperpigmentation can also contribute to skin texture irregularities by leaving behind dark spots or indentations. Environmental factors like sun exposure can thicken the skin over time, further adding to roughness.

Skin Texture

Skin conditions such as eczema or keratosis pilaris, are also common causes of texture issues. Eczema is a chronic skin condition that causes inflammation, redness, itching, and irritation. It typically appears as dry, flaky patches on the skin and is most common in childhood, though it can affect people of all ages.

Eczema flare-ups can be managed with proper skincare, which often includes using topical treatments such as corticosteroids or other anti-inflammatory medications prescribed by a doctor ONLY!
